ODE
TO THE TIGER
Hello everybody, Welcome! This is my first ever post and this seems really exciting. Hope you enjoy the poem. Do leave behind your comments and let me know if you liked it. Your opinions are very much appreciated. Okay, so here it is -
From the distance in the evening sun,
Carefully measuring her steps one by one,
She moved closer as I watched with stinging agony,
As she set her gaze upon the deer beside the tree.
With each second she moved closer,
Crawling along in a stealthy manner.
In the twilight enhanced was her beauty.
As I watched in wonder, the stunning features of her gorgeous symmetry.
And then came the moment,
As she pounced upon her prey with an expression of contentment.
And she let out a triumphant roar,
That shook the jungle's very core.
And into the setting sun gradually vanished the great beast,
Victory dancing in her eyes after her sumptuous feast.
In the darkness so frightening were her eyes,
They could frighten anyone - man or mice.
But Alas! This beautiful creation of God,
is now in jeopardy,
Thanks to man’s atrocity.
Oh! Men of the world, save this creature,
So it may in the jungles of the world continue to reside,
Because this is not just our National Animal, it’s our national pride.
This beautiful creature is one of its kind,
Its extinction is a loss to the world and to mankind.
Thanks for
your time. Cheers!!...
