LOST LOVE

Whenever I used to look into her eyes,
her love used to make me feel so small.
And that was despite my size,
Her smile made me so weak in my knees I used to fall.

All those nights I spent with her under the starry sky,
Looking back at those times, the memories now make me cry.
At all times, good or bad,
She was my rock, whether I was happy or sad.

The fond memories only make me wanting for more,
But, all I can do now is fantasize as the relationship has gone sore.
Yes, she is now no longer mine.
Perhaps, she was in my presence never fine.

Another man’s she has become now,
I’m still trying to come to terms with it but don’t know how.
In his company her face glows like the great Moon.
But, how I wish she were still mine,
I’d have thanked God a million times for having gifted me with the greatest boon.

  1. A random reader would think that this poem is written by someone who has been in love. Lol... is he/she in for a surprise or what!!! Anyway, very nice poem. But what do you mean by- in my presence never fine?
